Somatic Sentiments

The greatest progress in yoga - or in life - is not seen. It is felt. We often measure growth by what we can accomplish or achieve, but some of the most meaningful transformations leave no visible trace.

Somatic yoga invites us to shift our attention inward and notice rather than perform. Through slow, mindful movement and intentional pauses, we cultivate interoception, our ability to sense the internal landscape of the body.

The subtle rhythm of the breath.

The softening of tension.

The steadiness in your heart.

The quiet whisper that says, “I’m safe. I’m here.”

These moments may not look impressive from the outside, but they reshape the way we inhabit ourselves and experience life. Like the sunrise, change often arrives gradually. Before the world notices the light, the horizon has already begun to glow.

This week, instead of asking “How did I do?” try asking “What do I feel?” That question may reveal unseen progress.

Join me for a somatic yoga practice, where movement becomes listening and reconnection begins from within. I’m here to support you doing less and trusting how you feel.

Mindful Midweek Yoga every Wednesday at 5:30pm at Fresh Coast Yoga in Houghton, MI
